Christian Siderstrand 1910 census indicates his parents were born in Germany. He immigrated to America in 18?8. His sister, Elizabeth, was living with him and his wife. From Logan County, Illinois, the Clerk sent me a declaration of intention for citizenship for Christ A. Lohrenz (with an "h"). He renounced allegiance to the King of Prussia. On Monday, March 11, 1877, his citizenship was granted. Because of the "h", I don't know if this is the same Chris Lorenz as listed on the censuses. For now it is filed under his name. 1880 Illinois soundex lists John Myers living with them. He was 18 and from Prussia. His relationship to Christ Lorenz is unreadable. Also, John and Dora Lorenz (spelled Laurence on the soundex for each family member) have an "N. R." relationship to Christ Lorenz. Mr. Lorenz had followed the occupation of farming all his life. Eight years ago he retired. He had lived in Sangamon County since 1860 and at Breckenridge the last ten years.
