Funderal services were held at his home Tuesday, Dec. 26th, at 4:15 p.m. with Rev. J. K. Poch of the Lutheran church officiating, and interment made at Waak cemetery where local Sons of Hermann Lodge had part in the burial ceremonies, and pall bearers were chosen from embers of this lodge. There was a large attendance at ther servies, and the floral offerings were numerous and beautiful. Decedent was born Aug. 24, 1861 at Rostock, Mecklenburg- Schwerin, Germany, and at the age of 21 years came with his parents and one sister to Texas., February 7th, 1892, he was married to Miss Louise Schroeder, who survives him together with two daughters, Mrs. Minnie Calhoun of Ennis, and Mrs Hedwig Brooks of Hempstead; five sons, Theodore, Henry, Edgar, Charles and Edwin Hoff; 5 grandchildren, and other relatives. He leaves also many friends who knew him as a kind and indulgent husband and father, a generous neighbor, and a good citizen who was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in distress. These friends extend sincere condolence to the family in their bereavement. - Bellville, Texas, Dec. 28, 1933.
